Why you should try Disqus before 2.7

    I wouldn't have threaded comments - they are most of the time unreadable for me. I can't find new comments. I can't find a regular diskussion. One person speaks with another - no many persons talk to each other.

    So why should I change my theme for 2.7? Is there no chance to have no threaded comments?

    2.7 won't force threaded comments on anyone. It will be possible to decide on a post-by-post basis whether you want paging or threads and how many levels deep.

    I used to be of the same opinion about being able to follow the conversation but now I am leaning more towards it because it encourages commenters to talk to each other as well as just to the author.

    I haven't used Disqs however am using Intensedebate and I'm loving the concept of threaded comments. This is not only making this look neat, it also shows that who is talking to whom.

    I used IntenseDebate for the first time today and I must admit that I do like it. I haven't had a chance to look at all the social stuff yet, but I will.

    I must admit that it occurs to me that if it really takes off, and it might, that a blog without it, like mine, may suffer. I hope they do a Habari plugin sometime soon.

    I 'm an old internet girl - threaded -- the first you've learned in new foren software 1995 ;) And since this time I hate them.

    Yes, this is a positive potential. I prefer "quotes" - with quotes you can talk to each other and have a stringent timeline.

    And ... threaded comments are heavy to design for PDAs -


    Maybe very young blogger like them - and maybe WP must bring new features by hook or by crook ;)
